What is the recall?

The 6.2L V8 (L87) bearing defect

In 2025, GM recalled hundreds of thousands of 2021–2024 vehicles built with the 6.2L V8 (L87) engine over a manufacturing defect in the connecting-rod and crankshaft bearings that can seize the engine, often with no warning.

If your VIN comes back as included, your dealer must perform the remedy free of charge, even if your warranty has expired. If your engine has already failed, or you drive a model year outside the official window, report it so it's counted.
