What's included
Each record is one owner-submitted report: make, model, year, trim, mileage at failure (or current mileage for non-failed vehicles), symptoms, severity, repair status and outcome, out-of-pocket cost, days out of service, warranty and recall status, state, number of failures/replacements, and the submission date.
Privacy
The export is anonymized. It never includes VINs, names, emails, phone numbers, or free-text descriptions, only the structured, aggregate-useful fields above.
Methodology & caveats
Reports are self-submitted by owners and are not independently verified, so the dataset reflects who chose to report, not a random sample. It includes owner-reported failures outside GM's official 2021–2024 recall window. Use it to surface patterns, not precise failure rates.
